Overview
Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is seeking a Welder - 1st Shift (Cable Tray) at our Reno, NV facility. The hourly rate is $28.07 per hour. Core hours are 6:15 am to 2:45 pm. Overtime may be required ary information is a general guideline and based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications as well as market and business considerations.

The Welder position focuses on welding for the cable tray department. The Welder will direct and assist Assembler II’s with assembling ladders and welding the cable tray ladders and fittings.
- Perform simple repetitive tasks and assembly of parts and components
- Use bolts, screws, hand tools, clips and other fastening devices
- Operate welding unit, perform minor adjustments, and weld both aluminum and steel
- Work under close supervision and may work from models, samples, or engineering drawings
- Remove excess weld, slag, spatter, and rough spots from work pieces using grinders, brushes, chisels, or scrapers
- Support Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including:
- Maintain 5-S on shop floor and office areas
- Track and sustain visual management tools such as layered audits and OEE boards
- Encourage and participate in Kaizen improvements and events
Basic Qualifications:
- No relocation benefit. Candidates within 50 miles of Reno, NV;
Active-Duty Military Service members are exempt from geographic limitation. - Experience measuring components using tape measures and calipers
- Experience reading engineering drawings
- Minimum 1 year welding experience in a manufacturing environment (MIG/TIG)
- Experience adjusting and troubleshooting welding equipment
- Experience identifying defects and measuring work pieces to ensure conformance

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with manufacturing fabrication
- Ability to weld aluminum and steel
- Experience with high-volume, fast-paced welding
- Able to stand for the duration of the shift
- Must wear required personal protective equipment as per policy
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds; may occasionally lift more with assistance
- Repetitive lifting and movement of parts
- Exposure to high noise levels
- Exposure to forklift traffic in high-traffic areas
- Work environment includes oils, lubricants, and solvents
