Job DescriptionAs a Supply Chain Manufacturing Test Systems Engineer, you will own the automated test system infrastructure on the factory floor at our new Salt Lake City Electronics Manufacturing Facility. In this role, you will serve as the critical bridge between headquarters and local production. You will design, implement, maintain, and optimize test stations and logging/analysis tools to ensure full feature coverage and reliable performance, and partner closely with RF, systems, software, and quality engineering teams to establish thresholds, validate new tests, enable feature rollouts, and resolve production line issues through troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
Responsibilities- Design and implement comprehensive test plans to provide full coverage of wireless communication system feature sets.
- Design and implement logging and log‑analysis tools to capture performance of both the systems under test and the test infrastructure itself.
- Take ownership of production test station design, implementation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade; continuously improve manufacturing test efficiency.
- Collaborate with RF and systems engineering teams to understand performance requirements and establish production tests and performance thresholds.
- Partner with engineering and quality teams to validate new testing approaches for rollout to production.
- Work closely with the software development team to augment production test systems to support rollout of new features and product configurations.
- Perform advanced failure analysis and root‑cause determination for production issues escalated beyond standard manufacturing troubleshooting, focusing on design‑related causes.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing software for automated test equipment (ATE) in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Skilled in the use of containerization and deployment tools like Docker or Nginx.
- Acquainted with mesh networking.
- Strong data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and dynamically align to changing business conditions.
- Experience troubleshooting PCBA down to the component level.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical field and a minimum of 2 years of test engineering experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating in an electronics manufacturing facility with strict adherence to ISO 9001 processes and procedures.
- Strong foundational skills in software development with Python, C/C++, or related languages.
- Experience developing for one or more of Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android, or Bare‑metal environments.
- Demonstrated experience in wireless/networking or an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Proficient with RF instruments such as signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Ability to work 100% on‑site.
- Ability to travel extensively to Los Angeles for training during the initial months of the role.
$100,000 – $150,000 USD
Travel RequirementsUnder 10% travel. Relocation is provided for domestic positions.
