Novva is seeking an experienced Mission Critical Engineer to join our Data Center Mission Critical team. This position is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of the critical data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with electrical generation and distribution, cooling technologies and fire protection systems.
Job Description:- Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot mission-critical data center infrastructure.
- Maintain broad knowledge of data center infrastructure technologies and serve as a subject matter expert in at least one critical discipline, such as electrical, mechanical, controls, or fire protection systems.
- Understand, follow, and identify the appropriate procedure for planned maintenance, abnormal operating conditions, and emergency events.
- Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance programs for critical equipment and systems.
- Manage vendor relationships, oversee contractor activities, and verify work quality and compliance with site requirements.
- Provide leadership during critical incidents by directing team members and vendors, coordinating response activities, and communicating status to leadership.
- Evaluate infrastructure performance, system dependencies, operational risks, and potential failure scenarios.
- Anticipate potential issues, recommend mitigation strategies, and take proactive action to prevent equipment or system failures.
- Develop, review, and deliver training on operational procedures and critical processes.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- 4-7 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, data center operations, or a combination of these disciplines.
- 4-7 years of experience overseeing vendor activities, contractor performance, and quality control.
- Ability to analyze the operation of various systems,determine the cause of any problems or malfunctions and take corrective action as required.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to lead effectively in both routine and emergency operating conditions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Military technical training, trade school, or other relevant technical education is preferred.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), building management systems (BMS), and work-order management platforms is preferred.
