Position is located on-site at our mine in Lovelock, NV.

Job Description

The Maintenance Controller oversees and coordinates all maintenance-related activities within autonomous haulage control room operations. Reporting to the Control Room Supervisor, the role ensures timely preventive maintenance, coordinates repairs and maintains accurate records to support the safe and reliable operation of the autonomous fleet and mine equipment, serving as the primary liaison between Command Control and the maintenance teams. Working from the control room, the Maintenance Controller manages maintenance scheduling and execution in coordination with operations to minimize downtime and risk, plans and approves safe AOZ access for maintenance work, and tracks equipment through to return to service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage maintenance scheduling and execution in coordination with operations to minimize downtime and risk.
  • Track and monitor the status of all mine equipment (trucks, shovels and mobile units) to identify required maintenance and coordinate timely repairs.
  • Plan and approve safe AOZ access for maintenance work.
  • Monitor and update delay codes for mechanical or scheduled repairs.
  • Work with the maintenance team to monitor faults and coordinate the field response.
  • Track return-to-service criteria and confirm equipment readiness before an asset is released.
  • Oversee fatigue alerts and coordinate mitigation efforts.
  • Monitor slope stability, lightning detection and staging conditions, following the relevant TARPs.
  • Document downtime reasons and elevate frequent failure patterns.
  • Maintain accurate equipment logs and turnover sheets for a clean shift handover.
Job Requirements
  • Set the workplace health and safety culture within control operations.
  • Comply with and adhere to all company policies, regulations and procedures.
  • Report autonomy-related incidents as soon as practicable.
  • Participate in safety enquiries, safety meetings, workplace inspections and site safety programs as required.
  • Ensure no person approaches or accesses an autonomous truck before mode transition and isolation are confirmed.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Command Control and the maintenance teams for real-time updates, delay management and repair coordination.
Qualifications Essential
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or degree in a related field is an asset.
  • 3 or more years in an open-pit mining or autonomous operations environment.
  • Strong understanding of equipment maintenance protocols in an industrial or mining environment.
  • Experience with fleet-management systems such as CAT Mine Star, Modular or similar, and with maintenance-tracking systems.
