Willow Springs Center is looking for compassionate, caring and dedicated PER DIEM Registered Nurses for our Residential Treatment Facility. Located in Reno, Nevada, the center provides a destination location where employees can live, work and play. Responsibilities

Our Nurses provide professional nursing care to youth in a residential treatment setting in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. They identify patient health care needs using physical and behavioral nursing assessment skills and make comprehensive clinical observations and evaluations of health needs, including subtle abnormalities and changes in condition.

Nurses develop nursing care plans by assessing patients’ psychological and physical condition and create plans for treatment, services and health education based on present and predicted needs. They participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams and collaborate with professional and para-professional staff to ensure optimum care for our patients.

Nurses administer medications as prescribed by a physician or designee, ensure correct time, dosage and route of administration, and monitor patients for side effects or allergic reactions. They observe patients to determine if medication is effective and document findings. Nurses take necessary actions to maintain the safety, health and well-being of the children in the therapeutic environment and make crucial decisions as needed regarding safety concerns.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE: At least one year in a health care setting. Prior psychiatric experience preferred.

SHIFT REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 36 hours per month, including full 12-hour shifts and partial shifts.
