This OR Schedule opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is responsible for accurately performing the pre‑access functions for scheduled patients, which includes scheduling outpatient diagnostic procedures and completing the pre‑registration and insurance verification processes. The role also involves verification of benefits for all hospital patients, arranging efficient and orderly pre‑admission for inpatients and outpatients, and appropriate follow‑up for emergency department admissions.

The candidate will ensure patient information is collected, patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures, interview incoming patients or representatives and enter required admission data into the computer database, and distribute appropriate information to ancillary departments. Participation in performance improvement and CQI activities is required. This position serves as a lead for all central scheduling personnel, ensuring standard scheduling practices across all departments and serving as the lead resource for the entire scheduling team.

The role also serves as a liaison to the leadership team for all scheduling activities and processes and coordinates with leadership to ensure all corporate initiatives and quality metrics related to scheduling are met.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Supervise all scheduling staff and delegate appropriately, ensuring fair and equal assignments.
  • Assist with functions and responsibilities of the department as needed to achieve cooperation and teamwork through effective communication and positive public relations with patients, staff, and public.
  • Schedule and coordinate elective procedures for the operating room, GI Lab, and Cath Lab (if applicable).
  • Complete the daily OR schedule in a timely manner and distribute to the appropriate departments.

Qualifications
  • High‑school graduate or equivalent.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to any communication by phone.
  • Proficiency with general office equipment.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.
  • Minimum of one‑year scheduling experience within a health‑care setting required.
