The Day Surgery RN opportunity is part‑time, offers full benefits and a convenient schedule. We are looking for a dynamic individual to provide direct and indirect patient care in the DSU and PHA (pre‑operative holding area) environment. The RN will communicate with physicians, the Nurse Manager and director/co‑workers as appropriate about changes in the patient’s clinical condition, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
The RN must respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment, and perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
- Perform a head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients and reassess as per policy, including pediatric, geriatric and general populations.
- Assess and reassess pain, utilize pain management techniques, and educate patients and families regarding pain management.
- Establish plan of care as indicated by physician orders and condition.
- Treat patients and families with respect and dignity, identifying and addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs.
- Act as liaison between administration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Interact professionally with patients and families, involving them in the formation of the plan of care and discharge plan.
