Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Telemetry unit position in Reno, NV, requiring a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience and an active NV RN license prior to start.

Job Details

• Medical and Telemetry unit in a hospital setting,

• Patient population includes CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, COVID, and post-procedure patients (pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and OHS patients downgraded from ICU),

• Medications include non-titratable cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Lasix, and Nitro,

• 3x12-hour day shifts per week,

• Floating may be required to ICUs (for telemetry/medically appropriate assignments), med-surg units, and a sister facility,

• No on-call requirements,

• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts,

• EMR:
Epic - training provided during orientation, or candidates may test out,

• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start (RNs who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may still apply and must begin the application process immediately upon offer),

• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,

• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required,

• Candidates must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identifying and measuring rhythm strips - failure of the exam will result in contract termination,

• Fast-paced hospital serving a 500-mile radius, operating at the volume and pace of a Level I Trauma Center (designated Level II Trauma Center with Stroke accreditation),

• Minimum of 2 major holidays required during the contract,

• Travelers who have previously worked at this health system must take a 13-week break after their last contract ends before returning,

• Blocked scheduling is not permitted,

• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to consideration - the facility does not extend contracts to compensate for RTO,

• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
