Job Details
• Position is based in the TICU (ICU Sierra S1) department of a Level II Trauma Center and the only trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City,
• Facility is a large regional medical center treating over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually, also home to a children's hospital, robotic surgery institute, and comprehensive heart and cancer services,
• Shift is typically Monday-Friday, 8a-5p or 7a-4p, with occasional on-site presence outside those hours based on business needs,
• 40-hour work week; schedule may vary and can include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts,
• Call requirements to be discussed during interview,
• One additional shift pick-up required during the contract period,
• Floating to other areas of the organization may be required up to competency level,
• Epic EMR used for charting; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out,
Job Requirements
• Active NV RN license required; candidates who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may still apply but must begin the application process immediately upon offer,
• Current BLS certification (AHA only) required; professional certification preferred,
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience at a Level I or II facility required,
• Critical Care/ICU experience required,
• Must be able to provide direct patient care when unit demands require it,
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position,
Additional Information
• Responsible for 24-hour oversight of patient care delivery, including staffing, budgeting, and operational performance in compliance with Federal, State, Joint Commission, and/or CARF standards,
• Accountable for hiring, training, counseling, evaluating, and guiding staff professional growth,
• Acts as a change agent and transitional leader, fostering evidence-based nursing practice and a learning organization culture,
• Maintains relationships between physicians, the community, and the hospital while ensuring cost-effective, high-quality patient care,
• Minimum of 2 major holidays required during the contract,
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must take a 13-week break after their contract ends before returning,
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted,
• RTO must be declared prior to submission; time is not added to the end of the contract to compensate for approved time off,
• KRONOS used for time-keeping
