Travel RN - Operating Room - Outpatient Surgery​/Same Day Surgery

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Same Day Surgery Recovery Room position at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring 2+ years of surgery/recovery experience and an active NV RN license.

Job Details

• Same Day Surgery Recovery Room unit at a hospital that serves as the only Level II Trauma Center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City,

• Patient population includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients undergoing same-day surgical procedures,

• Shift schedule is 3x12-hour variable shifts, Monday through Friday, with start times of 7:00-19:30, 8:00-20:30, or 9:00-21:30,

• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts based on department needs,

• One additional shift required per schedule period,

• No on-call responsibilities outside of scheduled call shifts,

• Floating to other areas of the organization may be required up to the traveler's competency level,

• Epic is the EMR used; training available during orientation or candidates may test out,

Job Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start; RNs who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may be considered and must apply immediately upon offer,

• Current BLS certification required; must be AHA-issued,

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in surgery or recovery required,

Additional Information

• Provides comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across the patient care episode,

• Coordinates care with other healthcare professionals as needed,

• Kronos used for time keeping,

• Epic orientation training provided; candidates may also test out of Epic training,

• Minimum of 2 major holidays required during the contract,

• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must complete a 13-week break after their last contract before returning,

• Blocked scheduling is not permitted,

• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted,

• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to consideration; the facility does not extend contracts to compensate for RTO
