Position: Temporary Job-RN- Labor and Delivery

Position Purpose

This position provides optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. The incumbent is accountable for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care. The incumbent provides comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including their families/caregivers.

The incumbent provides comprehensive nursing services to newborn, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including their families/caregivers.

Renown Labor & Delivery is a very diverse unit that provides maternal health care to a variety of patients. These patients are all at some end of the pregnancy spectrum and require a multitude of interventions depending on what point they are at in their pregnancy.

Renown Labor & Delivery Unit has 6 triage beds, 15 labor beds, 9 antepartum beds, 3 ORs and a 3‑bed recovery room and the team works with midwives, PAs, and physicians, and we have 24 hours on site anesthesia.

This position does provide patient care.

Minimum Qualifications Education
  • Must have working‑level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.
  • Appropriate education to obtain and maintain Registered Nursing licensure in the State of Nevada.
Experience
  • At least 1+ years working as an RN in a labor and delivery department is required. Experience must be within the last 3 years.
License(s)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.
  • State of Nevada Point of Care Analyst (POCA) license required within 120 days of hire: 200179, 200255, 209256, 200266, 400266.
Certification(s)
  • Current BLS certification by The American Heart Association standards.
  • Other specific department required certificates: employees will obtain the extra certifications within six months, unless otherwise specified, of being hired or transferring into the department that requires the additional certificates.
  • ACLS per The American Heart Association Standards required for departments: 200112, 200114, 200119, 200132, 200150, 200151, 200155, 200179, 200201, 200202, 200205, 200206, 200208, 200251, 200253, 200255, 200261, 200265, 200266, 200276, 200322, 200323, 200325, 200329, 200340, 200341, 400111, 400125, 400131, 400151, 400201, 400202, 400208, 400251, 400253, 400255, 400266, 400276, 400329, 400340, 900256.
  • ACLS per The American Heart Association Standards required for departments: 200326 and 200329 within 3 months of being hired.
  • ACLS and PALS per The American Heart Association Standards required for department: 400326 within 3 months of being hired.
  • PALS per The American Heart Association Standards required for departments: 200178, 200179, 200202, 200205, 200324, 200341, 400202, 400340 (Pre‑Op and PACU RNs only), 400341, 900256.
  • PALS per The American Heart Association Standards required for department: 200322, 200323 within 6 months of being hired.
  • NRP required for departments: 200171, 200174, 200206 additions to BLS & RN.
  • STABLE certification required for 200174 within 6 months of being hired or transferring.
  • ENLS (Emergency Neuro Life Support) required for department 200255 within 24 months of being hired or transferred to the department.
  • ENLS required for department 200150 within 18‑24 months of being hired or transferred to the department.
  • ENPC or PALS per The American Heart Association Standards required for departments: 200266, 200255, 400255, 400266, 200268, 200276, 209256 within one year of being hired or transferring to the department in addition to ACLS, BLS & RN.
  • ENPC or PALS per The American Heart Association Standards required within 3 months of being hired or transferring to the department: 200326.
