ICU Clinical Supervisor (RN)
Full‑time position (36 hours per week) on the ICU Unit at Northern Nevada Medical Center, Sparks, Nevada. This dual clinical and managerial role provides direct and indirect patient care, oversees staff, and ensures high quality care.
Responsibilities- Provides direct and indirect patient care in the ICU.
- Conducts disciplinary actions and participates in hiring and termination of staff.
- Communicates with physicians, nurse managers, and co‑workers regarding changes in patient condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology.
- Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response.
- Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs, evaluates its effectiveness, and includes family in teaching as appropriate.
- Assesses and reassesses pain, utilizes appropriate pain‑management techniques, and educates patients and families regarding pain management.
- Revises plan of care as indicated by patient response and evaluates overall plan daily for effectiveness.
- Current Nevada State Registered Nurse Licensure.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications as appropriate for the department.
- Specialty certification preferred.
- Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred or enrollment in an accredited program within one year of employment, or transfer into a supervisor role.
