Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Reno, Nevada

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 3x12 shifts | 36 hours per week guaranteed

• Provide optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families
• Monitor and manage a patient population that includes CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, and post-procedure patients such as pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and patients downgraded from ICU
• Administer and monitor non-titratable cardiac medication drips including Cardizem, Lasix, and Nitro
• Identify and measure cardiac rhythm strips as part of telemetry competency requirements
• Coordinate care across a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative, patient-centered environment
• Float to intensive care units, medical-surgical units, or other departments as needed, up to competency level

• Active Nevada RN license required prior to start date
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identification and measurement of rhythm strips (failure of exam may result in contract termination)
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment

• Experience caring for post-procedure cardiac patients including pacemaker, ablation, and cath lab patients
• Familiarity with ICU step-down or progressive care unit environments
• Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center or similarly high-acuity setting

• Work within a nationally recognized, high-acuity medical center offering exposure to a broad and complex patient population across telemetry, cardiac care, and post-procedural services
