Job TitleRegistered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Nights)
LocationReno, Nevada
Schedule / Job TypeContract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 3x12 | 36 Hours Guaranteed Per Week
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Monitor and manage patients with conditions including CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, and post-procedure care (pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and patients downgraded from ICU)
- Administer and manage non-titratable cardiac medication drips including Cardizem, Lasix, and Nitroglycerin
- Identify and measure cardiac rhythm strips and respond appropriately to telemetry findings
- Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative, patient-centered environment
- Float as needed to intensive care units, medical surgical units, or other departments up to competency level
- Active Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to start date
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience
- Must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identification and measurement of rhythm strips (failure of exam may result in contract termination)
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment
- Experience caring for post-procedure cardiac patients including pacemaker and ablation patients
- Prior travel nursing experience with demonstrated adaptability across units and patient populations
- Familiarity with Level II Trauma Center or similarly high-acuity hospital environments
- Work within a nationally recognized, high-acuity facility serving a large regional population, offering exposure to a wide range of complex cardiac and medical-surgical cases
