Travel RN - Operating Room - Outpatient Surgery​/Same Day Surgery

Overview

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Same Day Surgery Recovery Room position at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring 2+ years of surgery/recovery experience and an active NV RN license.

• Active NV RN license required prior to start; RNs who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may be considered and must apply immediately upon offer
• Current BLS certification required; must be AHA‑issued
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in surgery or recovery required

• Same Day Surgery Recovery Room unit at a hospital that serves as the only Level II Trauma Center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City
• Patient population includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients undergoing same‑day surgical procedures
li>Shift schedule is 3x12‑hour variable shifts, Monday through Friday, with start times of 7:00–19:30, 8:00–20:30, or 9:00–21:30
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts based on department needs
• One additional shift required per schedule period
• No on‑call responsibilities outside of scheduled call shifts
• Floating to other areas of the organization may be required up to the traveler's competency level
• Epic is the EMR used; training available during orientation or candidates may test out
• Provides comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across the patient care episode
• Coordinates care with other healthcare professionals as needed
• Kronos used for time keeping
• Epic orientation training provided; candidates may also test out of Epic training
• Minimum of 2 major holidays required during the contract
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must complete a 13‑week break after their last contract before returning
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to consideration; the facility does not extend contracts to compensate for RTO
