Responsibilities
Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, provides adult behavioral health services at a new facility in Northwest Reno. The detox unit is a new program that will offer detox services to all adults 18 years and older, managed by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients experience an individualized care plan that includes family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24‑hour secure, compassionate environment.
This CNA opportunity is part‑time, 24 hours per week, offers full benefits, and a convenient night‑shift schedule. Your role will involve delivering safe and competent nursing‑assistant care while supporting the healthcare team and applying patient‑centered care principles.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Completes bedside shift reports at the beginning and end of each shift and ensures the patient is provided with the names and contact numbers for members of the care team on the communication board each shift.
- Meets with the supervising RN at the beginning of each shift to receive delegation of tasks.
- Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population‑specific, and diversity needs in care.
- Follows facility policies and procedures to promote patient safety (e.g., safe environment, equipment safety practices, radiation safety, fire prevention, etc.).
- Adheres to fall precautions by performing or assisting patients with toileting/ADL care and never leaving the patient alone; if assistance is needed, the CNA calls for help while remaining with the patient.
- Graduate of an accredited C.N.A. program
- Current Nevada C.N.A. license
- Current BLS certificate
