Responsibilities
Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, offers adult behavioral health services in a new facility located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The detox unit is a new program for adults 18 years and older, managed by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients receive individualized care plans that include individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24‑hour secure, compassionate environment.
This CNA opportunity is part‑time (24 hours per week), offers full benefits and a convenient night shift schedule. The role involves providing safe, competent nursing assistant care for patients and supporting the healthcare team with a patient‑centered approach.
- Completes bedside shift report at the beginning and end of each shift; maintains updated communication board with names and contact numbers of care team members.
- Meets with supervising RN to receive task delegation at the beginning of each shift.
- Involves patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population‑specific, and diversity needs in care.
- Follows facility policies and procedures to promote patient safety, including safe environment, equipment safety practices, radiation safety, and fire prevention.
- Adheres to fall precautions by performing or assisting patients with toileting/ADL care and never leaving them alone; requests help only when necessary.
- Graduate of an accredited CNA program.
- Current Nevada CNA license.
- Current BLS certificate.
