Overview
Sierra Medical Center is a 170‑bed acute care hospital in Northern Nevada that offers 24/7 ER care, cardiology, oncology, labor and delivery, level II NICU, surgical and orthopedic services, and more. It is part of the Northern Nevada Health System, a regional multi‑facility system dedicated to quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide safe, competent nursing care in accordance with facility policies and standards.
- Demonstrate professional leadership and support to the healthcare team with a patient‑centered approach.
- Involve the patient, family and community in psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, and cultural needs during care assessment.
- Construct and implement nursing plans of care using nursing knowledge and skill.
- Coordinate the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients.
- Develop goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient and family needs.
- Consistently complete hourly rounds with a focus on strengthening communication, improving safety, and anticipating patient needs such as pain management, repositioning, and toileting.
- Pro‑actively evaluate the environment to ensure it is patient friendly and safe.

- Graduate of an accredited or NLN‑approved RN program.
- Current Nevada nursing license.
- Current BLS certificate.
- Preferred one year full‑time or three years part‑time experience in an acute care setting.
- Must successfully pass any pre‑employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
