Job Overview
Registered Nurse - Endoscopy Unit (part‑time, 20 hrs per week, day shift). The role involves direct patient care from infant through geriatric populations in the surgical/endoscopy environment, addressing psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care. The RN communicates continuously with surgeons and anesthesiologists, assists with equipment maintenance and inventory, participates in performance‑improvement activities, and monitors and assists the patient during procedures.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to infant through geriatric populations within the endoscopy unit.
- Communicate continuously with surgeon and anesthesiologist regarding patient condition during procedures.
- Assist with maintenance of surgical equipment and endoscopy inventory.
- Participate in performance‑improvement activities that enhance patient safety and quality of care.
- Assess the operating room / endoscopy procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness.
- Obtain supplies for individual cases and ensure all appropriate needs of the surgical operating team are met.
- Monitor, position, and assist the patient during procedure.
- Demonstrate supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR.
- Assess cardio‑respiratory systems for changes in patients and treat appropriately.
- Take full responsibility for the care of endoscopes/instruments/equipment during procedures, including cleaning and processing.
- Pre‑prep and drape patients correctly for all procedures, ensuring medical and surgical asepsis.

- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Associate degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- At least 2 years post‑graduate experience in Surgery or Medical/Surgical Nursing.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
