About the Role
Per diem Nurse Apprentice at Sierra Medical Center, a 170‑bed acute care hospital within the Northern Nevada Health System. The role supports nursing care, coordinates patient treatments, and serves as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Responsibilities- Perform head‑to‑toe assessments on all patients, including pediatric, geriatric, and general adult populations.
- Assist the RN preceptor in formulating patient care plans and revising them as needed based on patient response.
- Administer medications and treatments under RN supervision, following age‑appropriate protocols.
- Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and post‑discharge instructions.
- Document assessments, plans, and interventions accurately in the electronic health record.
- Coordinate delivery of patient treatments and ensure adherence to hospital and department policies.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing.
- Completed the first year of clinical rotations in an acute care hospital.
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
