Registered Nurse, Emergency Dept @ the NW McCarran FED – Full Time Nights.
Location:
Reno, Nevada.
Compensation: $41.90–$61.00/hr sign‑on bonus: $10,000.
ResponsibilitiesProvides professional nursing care within the Emergency Department and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Determines priorities of care based on patient needs and system flow, communicates with ED physicians regarding changes in patient status, and responds quickly to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care.
- Ability to perform a head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. Includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.
- Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care. Accurately assigns triage categories.
- Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
- Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain, utilizes appropriate pain‑management techniques, and educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
Current NV RN License.
- Two to three years experience in the emergency department is preferred, or two to three years critical‑care experience, or extensive EMS background experience.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire).
- Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire).
