Responsibilities
A part-time Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care to infants through geriatric patients in the operating room and pain center environment. The RN will communicate continuously with the surgeon and anesthesiologist about patient condition, assist with equipment maintenance and pain‑management inventory, participate in performance‑improvement activities, and ensure all surgical equipment and supplies are ready for each case.
The RN will monitor, position, and assist the patient during the procedure and provide supportive bedside care using IMAP & SBAR techniques.
- Approach patients in a kind, gentle, and friendly manner.
- Respond to inappropriate behavior therapeutically and document responses to anxiety or distress.
- Request Social Service/Pastoral Care when appropriate.
- Give patient explanations and verbal reassurances consistently.
- Identify physical symptoms and changes and take timely actions.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Nevada.
- At least one year of operating room experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
