Job Overview
ER Registered Nurse (part‑time, 24 hours per week) at Northern Nevada Health System. The role will provide professional nursing care within the Emergency Department, coordinate care planning with other disciplines, and ensure patient care meets psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care. The position offers full benefits and a convenient schedule.
- Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform head‑to‑toe assessments on all patients and conduct reassessments per policy, including pediatric, adolescent, geriatric and general patient populations.
- Use the triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care, accurately assigning triage categories.
- Monitor hemodynamic status of patients and correctly interpret the results.
- Assess and reassess pain, utilize appropriate pain‑management techniques, and educate patients and families regarding pain management.
- Current NV RN License.
- Two to three years of emergency department experience OR two to three years of critical care experience OR extensive EMS background.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire).
- Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire).
