RN Nurse, Surgical Assistant, Operating Room Nurse
Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is a 170‑bed acute care hospital offering 24/7 ER, cardiology, oncology, labor and delivery, level II NICU, surgical and orthopedic services and more.
Responsibilities- Serve as the point person and educator for the robotics program in the operating room.
- Provide support to the department, staff, and physicians for the robotics program.
- Assist in managing the robotic surgery schedule and maintain inventory related to the robotic system.
- Maintain and update OR/hospital protocols related to robotic surgery.
- Report quality data to the robotics steering committee.
- Maintain a strong clinical presence, oversee and advise surgical robotic staff, and participate in the competency evaluation process.
- Assist in marketing and recruitment of physicians to the robotic program.
- Provide direct patient care to patients across all age groups.
- Address psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
- Communicate with surgeons and anesthesiologists continuously about patient condition.
- Assist with maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory.
- Participate in performance‑improvement activities.
- Assess operating room or procedure room for equipment function and readiness; obtain supplies for cases and ensure all needs of the surgical team are met.
- Monitor, position, and assist patients during procedures.
- Develop and maintain clinical pathways for robotic surgery teams.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Nevada.
- Preferred: at least three years of acute‑care operating‑room experience.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
