This Registered Nurse – Endoscopy Unit opportunity is part‑time at 20 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. The RN will provide direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations in the surgical/endoscopy environment. Responsibilities include addressing psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care, communicating with surgeon and anesthesiologist about patient condition, assisting with equipment and inventory, participating in performance improvement activities, assessing operating room/endoscopy procedure room for equipment readiness, obtaining supplies and ensuring needs of the surgical operating team are met, and monitoring, positioning and assisting patient during procedure.
Responsibilities- Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR.
- Demonstrates ability to assess cardio‑respiratory systems for changes in infant to geriatric patients and treat appropriately.
- Fully responsible for the care of endoscopes/instruments/equipment during the procedure, including cleaning and processing scopes and reusable instruments at the end of the procedure in partnership with the endoscopy tech.
- Preps and drapes patients correctly for all procedures. Carries out medical and surgical asepsis during all procedures.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Associate degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- At least two (2) years post‑graduate experience in Surgery or Medical/Surgical Nursing.
- BLS and ACLS required.
