Job Overview
Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is a 170-bed acute care hospital offering services including 24/7 ER care, cardiology, oncology, labor and delivery, level II NICU, surgical and orthopedic services, and more.
This CVOR OR Registered Nurse opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift position. This dynamic individual will provide direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations, address psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment, communicate with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously about patient condition, assist with maintenance of surgical equipment and pain management inventory, participate in performance improvement activities, assess operating room readiness, obtain supplies, and monitor, position and assist patient during procedure.

- Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR (both accomplished in partnership with patient inside room).
- Takes appropriate actions and documents in response to manifested anxiety or distress. Requests Social Services/Pastoral Care, as appropriate.
- Gives patient explanations and verbal reassurances consistently.
- Formulates an individualized plan of care, as indicated, and evaluates for effectiveness.
- Identifies physical symptoms and changes and takes appropriate actions in a timely manner.

- At least one year experience in the Operating Room.
- Current ACLS & BLS certification.
