American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg Tele experience and an active NV RN license.
Details- Sierra Med-Tele unit (Sierra
1) within a Level II Trauma Center and regional medical center - Patient population includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including families and caregivers
- Cases include complex medical-surgical and telemetry monitoring needs at a facility treating over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually
- Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts per week
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
- Floating to other units may be required up to the traveler's competency level
- One additional shift pickup required per schedule period
- No on-call requirements
- EMR:
Epic — training provided during orientation, or candidates may test out
- Active NV RN license required prior to start (RNs who have never held a NV license may apply and must begin the application process upon offer)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications — AHA-issued only
- Must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identifying and measuring telemetry rhythm strips
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Provides comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinates care across disciplines and communicates with families and caregivers as part of the care plan
- The facility is the only Level II Trauma Center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City, and is home to the region's only children's hospital, Institute for Neurosciences, and accredited heart failure center
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must take a 13-week break after their last contract ends before returning
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted
- A minimum of 2 major holidays are required
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — time will not be added to the end of the contract to compensate
