Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit is responsible for providing optimal patient care utilizing nursing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. This role is accountable for individualized patient outcomes across the entire episode of care. The RN will deliver comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Provide nursing services to patients with various medical conditions including post ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke, sepsis, cardiac, and respiratory issues.
• Demonstrate cognitive and psychosocial understanding specific to the population served.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as necessary.
• Maintain a high level of nursing vigilance and ensure safety in patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum 2 years of Intermediate Care/Stepdown experience required;
  Medical/Neuro ICU experience preferred.
• Experience with vasopressors, titratable drips, art lines, neuro stepdown patients, procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and trach management is essential.
• NV RN license required prior to start.
• Required certifications include BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS (APEX).
