Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring a valid NV RN license and a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience.

• Active NV RN license required (candidates who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may apply but must begin the application process immediately upon offer)
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam including identifying and measuring telemetry rhythm strips
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

• Sierra Med/Tele unit (Sierra
  1) within a large regional medical center and the only Level II Trauma Center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City
• Patient population includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers
• Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts with a 36-hour workweek
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• No on-call requirements outside of scheduled shifts
• Floating to other units may be required up to the travelers competency level
• One additional shift pickup required per schedule period
• Epic EMR used for charting; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out
• 13-week contract
• Provides comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation; coordinates care with other healthcare professionals as needed
• The facility is the region's only Level II Trauma Center, treating over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually, and is home to a children's hospital, robotic surgery institute, and neurosciences institute
• Minimum of 2 major holidays required during the assignment
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have a 13-week break after their last contract end date before returning
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• RTO must be disclosed prior to consideration and will not be made up at the end of the contract
• All certifications must be from the American Heart Association (AHA)
