Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Telemetry department provides optimal patient care by utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. The RN will account for individualized patient outcomes throughout the entire episode of care, serving adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as well as their families or caregivers.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with various diagnoses, including CHF, Alcohol Withdrawal, NSTEMI's, sepsis, dysrhythmias, PNA, COPD, and Covid.
• Manage care for post-procedure patients including those with pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and OHS patients once downgraded from ICU.
• Administer non-titratable cardiac medication drips (e.g., Cardizem, Lasix, Nitro).
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Float as necessary to Intensive Care Units and medical-surgical units to meet organizational needs.
• Participate in patient family-centered care by including family in assessment, planning, interventions, and evaluations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience required.
• NV RN license is required prior to start.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are necessary.
• Ability to pass a telemetry competency exam, including identifying and measuring rhythm strips.
