Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Telemetry department is responsible for delivering optimal patient care utilizing advanced knowledge and skills within the nursing process. The RN is accountable for individualized patient outcomes throughout the care experience for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families or caregivers.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a telemetry setting.
- Manage care for patients with conditions such as CHF, Alcohol Withdrawal, NSTEMI's, sepsis, dysrhythmias, PNA, COPD, and Covid.
- Administer non-titratable cardiac medication drips and monitor patient response.
- Float to Intensive Care Units and other departments based on patient care needs.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding care plans.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience required.
- Nevada RN license required prior to start.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
- Must successfully pass a telemetry competency exam, which includes identifying and measuring rhythm strips.
