Range and Sheep Manager – Eureka, NV

Manage the daily operations of the Rafter7 Merina and Merino Rambouillet sheep in a dry‑land rangeland and private pasture environment. The Rafter7 flock is a special breeding herd developed for range hardiness to produce high‑quality lambs and wool. The position supports rangeland research, promotes wildlife and livestock interactions, aids in animal disease control, and enhances production and best‑management practices.
Services duties will include:
- Daily management of the rangeland, flock, and associated herders
- Coordination and participation with research scientists
- Outreach and educational activities to the public and stakeholders
- Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine
- At least one year of veterinary practice with livestock, or experience in range and sheep management
- Fluency in Spanish to communicate effectively with sheepherders
- Exempt – Full‑time, 100% FTE
- Employment is subject to a background check and verification of academic credentials
