Our Veterinary Assistants are an important part of that team; supporting our doctors and LVTs, caring for patients, communicating with clients, and helping keep the hospital moving throughout the day.

We're a four-doctor practice in Reno, Nevada, looking for a Veterinary Assistant who is compassionate, motivated to learn, and excited to continue developing their skills in veterinary medicine.

Veterinary Assistants play an important role in the patient experience. From helping a nervous pet feel more comfortable to anticipating what your medical team needs next, the work you do has a direct impact on patient care.

You'll work alongside our veterinarians and LVTs while continuing to develop your technical knowledge and hands-on skills. We want team members who are eager to learn—and we want experienced team members who are eager to teach.

We believe development happens when you're given opportunities to learn, practice, ask questions, and receive feedback. We'll help you continue building your skills and confidence while working within the appropriate scope of your role.

Our Medical Director is passionate about continuing to incorporate Fear Free principles throughout the hospital. We're focused on creating a calmer, more positive experience for our patients and want team members who understand that how we care for an animal matters just as much as what we do.

Veterinary medicine can get busy. We need people who communicate, jump in when help is needed, and understand that everyone's role contributes to the success of the hospital.

• Assisting veterinarians and LVTs with patient care
• Preparing exam and treatment areas
• Helping with safe, compassionate patient handling and restraint
• Obtaining accurate patient histories
• Supporting appointments and procedures
• Preparing patients and supplies for treatments and surgery
• Assisting with diagnostic procedures as appropriate
• Caring for hospitalized and recovering patients
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked hospital
• Communicating observations and patient needs to the medical team
• Educating and communicating with clients within your role
• Helping the team maintain an efficient flow throughout the day

Previous veterinary experience is preferred, but we're also interested in candidates with a strong foundation, the right attitude, and a genuine desire to grow in veterinary medicine.

• Base hourly rate of $17-$22 DOE
• Eligible for periodic bonus
• Sign-on bonus of up to $500
