Overview
Make a difference, protect lives, and build your career with a leading fire, life safety and security company. This position is responsible for performing building backflow inspections, including testing devices, recording and generating results, and providing reports.
Responsibilities- Assist the Lead Inspector and/or Inspection Manager in collecting data and generating Backflow Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, and Inspection Certificates.
- Ensure that all inspections are completed on a timely basis and conducted accurately and thoroughly.
- Test building backflow control panels, devices, and functions of the system and enter test results into the Palm handheld device.
- Upon completion of an inspection, download the information and generate a completed Backflow Inspection Report.
- Participate in monthly team meetings and perform other duties assigned by management.
- College degree preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent with acceptable experience is acceptable.
- Must possess and maintain a valid AWWA-NV Water Use Efficiency Practitioner certification upon hire.
- 1–3 years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a Backflow Inspector.
- Study and apply NFPA standards for inspection and testing of fire protection systems; stay current with code requirements and industry changes; obtain NICET certifications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; customer service oriented.
- Proficiency with test equipment (sensitivity test equipment, multi-meters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communicating devices) and PC skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel) and Palm OS.
- Reliable transportation to and from the office or job site.
Industrial, commercial, and residential building environments with moderate to high noise levels; comfortable working tly a physically demanding role with daily standing, walking stairs, and climbing ladders. May lift objects up to 50 pounds.
