About the Opportunity

A leading manufacturer of food service and specialty packaging products is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the quality function at its 24/7 manufacturing facility in Reno, Nevada.

This is a highly visible, plant-level leadership opportunity for a hands‑on quality professional who enjoys being on the manufacturing floor, working directly with employees, leading training, managing audits, and driving continuous improvement.

The facility produces wraps, clamshell packaging, grocery bags, and other paper-based packaging products supporting major food service and restaurant customers.

The ideal candidate will bring strong quality leadership experience within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Experience with
SQF/GFSI and GMP is important; candidates with strong quality backgrounds who are willing to learn food safety and environmental responsibilities will also be considered.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the plant's quality programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.
  • Oversee SQF/GFSI programs
    , GMP compliance, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Develop and deliver employee training related to quality, GMP, food safety, and quality procedures.
  • Manage internal and external quality audits, corrective actions, and follow‑up activities.
  • Conduct hands‑on quality inspections and audits throughout the manufacturing floor.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve SOPs, quality documentation, inspection reports, and records.
  • Support customer quality requirements, complaints, and corrective actions.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Operations and other plant leadership teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, processes, and manufacturing performance.
  • Support environmental compliance initiatives and related training.
  • Help maintain a strong quality‑focused culture throughout the facility.
  • Lead and support the plant's quality function while remaining highly visible and engaged on the manufacturing floor.
What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of quality supervision or management experience within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience leading quality programs, teams, or plant‑level quality functions.
  • Experience conducting or managing quality audits and compliance programs.
  • Experience with SQF/GFSI programs.
  • Knowledge of GMP requirements.
  • Experience developing and delivering employee training.
  • Strong understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Experience developing and implementing SOPs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, confident leadership presence with the ability to influence employees at all levels.
  • Willingness to be highly active and visible on the manufacturing floor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in food, food packaging, paper converting, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • TQM experience.
  • ISO experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.

A degree is not required if you have strong, relevant manufacturing quality leadership experience.

This role is best suited for a hands‑on Quality Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of a plant‑level quality function.

You should be someone who:

  • Leads from the manufacturing floor rather than from behind a desk.
  • Is comfortable training and influencing production employees.
  • Can communicate clearly and confidently with employees, customers, and leadership.
  • Is professional, direct, and results‑oriented.
  • Can balance quality ownership with a collaborative approach.
  • Enjoys identifying problems, determining root causes, and implementing solutions.
  • Is comfortable working in a fast‑paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
