The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of real estate development and the ability to move complex infill and urban core projects from concept through entitlement and incentive coordination. This position plans and advances redevelopment initiatives for the Reno Redevelopment Agency (RDA), serving as the primary liaison to developers and investors while aligning Agency priorities, land strategy, and market conditions to accelerate high-quality public-private redevelopment.

Position Summary:

The Development Coordinator plans, coordinates, and advances redevelopment initiatives for the Reno Redevelopment Agency (RDA), serving as the primary point of contact for developers, investors, and property owners pursuing infill and urban core projects. The position facilitates public-private partnership opportunities, supports pre-development activities on strategic sites, and guides projects through feasibility, entitlement, and incentive coordination processes. Responsibilities include aligning Agency processes, land strategy, market conditions, and investment tools to accelerate high-quality redevelopment.

Supervision Received and Exercised:

Receives general direction from the management or higher-level executive. Work is performed with a high degree of independence and is reviewed for alignment with redevelopment goals, policy objectives, and project outcomes. Does not typically exercise formal supervisory authority but may coordinate the work of cross-departmental teams, consultants, and external development partners to advance assigned projects and initiatives.

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to, the following.

* Conduct site analysis and determine the highest and best use of land, buildings, and infrastructure within Redevelopment Areas.

* Coordinate internal alignment on land strategy, policy goals, and redevelopment priorities to support strategic outcomes.

* Market redevelopment and infill opportunities to developers, investors, and real estate partners using targeted outreach and professional marketing materials.

* Analyze project feasibility, develop pro-forma models, and prepare RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs for RDA-owned sites and assets.

* Represent the Agency in negotiations with developers and provide guidance on design standards, entitlement processes, and development options.

* Facilitate project coordination with developers, engineers, architects, and public agencies to address constraints and advance project scheduling.

* Identify and help resolve development barriers, including site access, utilities, financing gaps, tenant relocation, and intergovernmental issues.

* Prepare reports, presentations, financial and statistical records, and translate market and financial data into clear decision-support materials while addressing stakeholder concerns.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, urban planning, public administration, real estate management, architecture, or a related field.

Experience:

Five (5) years of professional experience in real estate development, redevelopment, commercial real estate, economic development, or public-private partnerships.

Licenses and

Certifications:

Valid driver's license.
