Jacobs Entertainment is currently in search of a “Restaurant Host/Cashier—The Buffet” for the All-New J Resort
. The J Resort is a full-service hotel-casino with over 500 rooms and a wide variety of Slots and Table Games. The J has a unique blend of original art, live music, bold flavors, luxurious accommodations, and exciting casino action…And we are just getting started!

Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Seat guests in a courteous and friendly manner and ensure any special needs have been taken care of
- Managing restaurant waiting list during high volume to accurately set guest expectations
- Maintain all work spaces and materials at a high level of cleanliness
- Ensure place settings are appropriate and each guest has a napkin, clean silverware, and any other item that is part of the standard place setting
- Assign servers to sections, confirm, and manage reservations, and assign guests to tables while communicating with Servers and Managers
- Be knowledgeable of all menu items, including ingredients and preparation
- Assist customers with questions regarding activities within the casino for that day
- Maintain a clean work area, professional appearance and present positive customer service techniques
- Perform all opening, side work, and closing duties
- Answer phone inquiries and take down messages for customers as necessary.
- Ensure proper seating rotation
- Continuously monitor dining room to make sure it is properly maintained, and the floor is free of debris
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience
- Identification that establishes identity
