Beer-Wine-Liqr​/Specialty Wine Steward

As an associate of Kroger, your primary objective is to highly satisfy customers by providing exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure their return visits.

• Conduct yourself in a professional manner, displaying a positive attitude and speaking highly of the company in the presence of customers or other employees.
• Respond to customers’ questions and requests in a courteous and helpful way.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Understand and adhere to shrink guidelines.
• Remove merchandise from pallets and sort into groups according to the area of the store where it will be stocked.
• Load merchandise onto carts to be placed on designated shelves or onto the sales floor for proper display.
• Follow merchandising plans and guidelines to promote items.
• Engage customers and upsell products.
• Conduct wine tastings and demo events according to the company plan.
• Communicate and follow up with vendors to maintain proper inventory.
• Read codes on shelves and merchandise labels and attach price labels to each item.
• Remove merchandise from the back room for stocking on sales‑floor shelves and build special sales displays.
• Operate a manual pallet‑jack.
• Operate a powered pallet stacker or straddle stacker (if over 18 years of age).
• Check prices, requiring knowledge of item locations.
• Take trash to the dumpster.
• Operate the baler (if at least 18 years old).
• Sweep and/or mop spills.
• Climb a ladder up to 10 ft. above floor level to hang signs and change light bulbs.
• Help prepare for inventory.

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Previous comparable experience.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
