Job Overview

Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager – responsible for sales, merchandising, operations, and team development in a retail store. Compensation ranges from $18–$22 per hour plus commission on sales. • Answer questions about store merchandise and recommend items based on guest needs.
• Demonstrate product knowledge and sales techniques, and keep knowledge of current sales, promotions, and policies up to date.
• Achieve personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
• Provide exceptional service throughout the store, including the sales floor, fitting rooms, and register areas.
• Fill out and effectively use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily, meeting or exceeding performance standards.
• Lead by example with showmanship, excellent customer service, and a positive floor culture.
• Plan and review sales goals with the Store Manager and use the Performance Tracker to monitor progress.
• Recognize recruiting opportunities and use the Jobs & Careers portal to meet hiring goals.
• Assist with daily set‑up, training, and merchandising tasks, ensuring compliance with Visual Standards and the Weekly Visual Checklist.
• Motivate teammates to complete daily tasks and maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store environment.
• Support the Store Manager by handling employee paperwork, recommending staffing needs, and coaching teammates in non‑sales positions.
• Work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
• Identify and report security risks, conduct bag and purse checks, and follow loss‑prevention guidelines.
• Execute and teach all point‑of‑sale (POS) procedures and handle corporate calls as needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory, pull freight, and execute markdowns and returns in accordance with policy.
• Provide feedback to the Store Manager and Leadership Team regarding store performance, policy violations, and guest concerns in a timely and confidential manner.
• Assist with special projects and cover other stores within the district when business requires travel or overnight stay.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Related retail experience and/or training preferred.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel, including overnight, if needed.
