Job Summary:

The Multi-Purpose Clerk
- Night Crew is responsible for a variety of clerk positions, cross‑trained and internally certified for these positions on an ongoing basis. Responsibilities include stocking grocery store shelves, pricing new items, offloading shipments, unwrapping, rotating and packing boxes during overnight shifts, order writing, freshness/quality code checking, item‑to‑tag integrity, reporting risks or safety issues, ensuring proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining inventory accuracy, operating the check stand, sweeping and mopping the sales floor, front end, back rooms, and refrigerated areas, and maintaining a clean, hazard‑free work area.

• Receive, stock, display, price, and face product.
• Break down loads including unwrapping, rotating and packing boxes.
• Write orders and ensure item‑to‑tag integrity.
• Report all risks or safety issues to management.
• Ensure proper temperature in cases and coolers.
• Maintain inventory accuracy.
• Perform minimal cash register checks.
• Sweep and mop sales floor, front end, back rooms, and refrigerated areas.
• Know location of the MSDS binder and information about all materials used during work.
• Operate forklift if authorized and certified.
• Operate commercial baler if authorized to compress cardboard.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and self‑motivation.
• Proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible on the job.
• Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English.
• Strong team player with a willingness and desire to learn, work hard, and have fun.

Minimum three months of relevant experience or equivalent.

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience/training.

• Availability to work a variety of retail hour shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Availability to work overnight shifts.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds without assistance and may lift up to 85 pounds on occasion.
• Ability to carry up to 80 pounds on occasion.
• Ability to push up to 85 pounds on occasion.
• Ability to pull up to 92 pounds on occasion.
• Requires standing and other physical movements on a frequent basis.
• Ability to work in temperature levels that may fluctuate, including cold room and freezer units.
• Ability to operate tools such as step stools, carts, registers, safety cutters, rolling ladders, food preparation equipment, ovens, warmers, mixers, meat cutting instruments, various carts including pallet jacks, packaging components, and cleaning supplies.
