Job Description Summary

The finisher is responsible for laying out forms, bending and tying rebar, setting up forms, placing concrete, stripping forms, and handling material. This is a safety sensitive position. The job site is in Northern Nevada and Northern California.

Requirements:

Skill, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Possess the ability to follow instructions as directed by Foreman/Superintendent.
• Possess ability to operate hand tools and hand power tools such as basic hand trowels, stick tools, walk behind machines, rider machines, power sprayer, vibratory screed, bunyan screed, roller screed, basic carpentry tools.
• Able to demonstrate above skills to instruct or assist laborers if required.
• Previous experience performing the listed duties and tasks for the position.
• Lives in Northern Nevada and Northern California where most of the work will be performed.

• OSHA 10 or 30 hour Certified
• High school diploma or GED Equivalent
• Two years’ equivalent combination of related experience or education
• 18 years or older

Physical

• Body Positions - Long periods of time bending and standing.
• Body Movements - Ability to walk, climb, stoop, kneel or crawl on uneven ground, lift and carry up to 100 pounds, dig with a shovel, swing a pick, swing a hammer, operate vibrating/hopping equipment such as a wacker, rotohammer, etc. Repeated use of hands, eyes, ears, arms and voice.
• Body Senses - Ability to obtain information, listening, talking, seeing.
• Mental - Language requirements are reading and the ability to communicate clearly with all trades.

Working Conditions

• Primarily outdoor activity during all seasons.
• Environment also includes frequent work around motor vehicles, cranes, moving equipment and vibrating equipment.
• This job position often requires working long hours from early morning to late night.

Essential Functions

The basic function of the concrete finisher is to layout forms, panels, footings, embeds and ledgers. Set up forms and place concrete. This is a safety sensitive position.

• Get to work as directed and on time daily
• Follow instructions as directed by Foreman/Superintendent
• Layout forms
• Set up forms
• Strip forms
• Operate tools and equipment with caution and care in a manner to obtain maximum usefulness and to extend the lifetime of tools and/or equipment
• Work in a safe, continuous, conscientious manner to produce a quality end product. This is a safety sensitive position.
• Make known to foreman/superintendent any safety hazards
