Job Description
As a Structures Mechanic, you will be responsible for the proper fabrication and installation of metal goods in aircraft components and related products, including flaps, slats, intakes, leading edges, and more. You will work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions to repair, modify, or install metal and composite structural components to meet engineering dispositions and government standards.
Responsibilities- Perform structural repairs and alterations in accordance with FARs, manufacturer’s technical publications, and FAA standards and regulations.
- Manufacture form and molding blocks.
- Fabricate sheet metal parts requiring flanges and contouring.
- Produce and fabricate tooling and parts to aid in the repair of components or aircraft parts for MRO and SRC.
- Lay out and form doublers, stringers, angles, channels, zee sections, and hat sections.
- Perform parts fabrication, layout, drilling, riveting, deburring, polishing, and installation of parts.
- Apply knowledge of close tolerances for interference fit fasteners.
- Replace bearings and bushings as required.
- Set up and operate heavy machine tools, including power brakes, drill press, and shears.
- Execute assigned tasks from a set of drawings, SRM, sketches, or verbal instructions.
- Complete daily tasks with accuracy and completeness.
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and Company Procedures, advising management immediately of any unsafe or hazardous equipment or working conditions.
- Maintain a clean working area.
- Complete work within allocated target hours and on schedule.
- Occasionally perform fabrication and installation of Avionics STC systems, flight controls, and associated airframe systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain knowledge of current EPA regulations and applicable F.A.R.s.
- Understand and comply with all employee work rules.
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication and aircraft structure work.
- Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
- Minimum of 3 years of structural repair experience or equivalent.
- F.A.A. “Airframe” license preferred.
- Candidates with prior military experience in the Air Force are a good fit.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Additional courses in structural repair and alteration work in a recognized service or technical school.

Work EnvironmentWork is performed in an aircraft hangar at a major service provider for Falcon aircraft located in Reno, Nevada. This is a first shift position, Monday through Friday.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reno, NV.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $39.00 - $45.00/hr.
