Job Summary
Barnes & Noble Reno Distribution Center is hiring! We are located right off exit 26 on Interstate 580, just 6 miles south of the Reno‑Tahoe Airport. Competitive wages up to $32 per hour based on experience.

Job Responsibilities- Team member to resolve repair functions safely and timely.
- Perform minor to advanced repairs and adjustments as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Technician.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on a schedule: lubrication, inspections, belt & roller replacements, filter changes.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
- Maintain, inspect, and repair conveyor systems, dock levelers, air compressors, battery charging equipment, and light fixtures.
- Assist with facility upkeep: assembling, moving furniture, changing light bulbs, basic painting, hardware mounting.
- Operate and maintain floor scrubbers, compactors, balers, battery changers, and powered industrial trucks.
- Respond to and complete maintenance work orders through internal reporting systems.
- Use ladders, man lifts, forklifts, and carts to access work areas safely.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation for PMs, repairs, and parts used.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations to support process improvements and minimize downtime.
- Perform general housekeeping and cleanup tasks as assigned.
- Practice safe work habits, adhere to safety policies, and wear appropriate PPE.
- Communicate verbally and in writing; follow directions accurately.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort around moving machinery.
- Familiarity with basic hand/power tools.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; experience with team lifting.
- Ability to work at heights and in varying environmental conditions.
- Strong safety awareness; identify and report hazards proactively.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience in an industrial or distribution center environment.
- Basic troubleshooting of mechanical issues and completion of PMs with supervision.
- Prior experience with conveyor and warehouse equipment systems.
- Minimum 2–5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or distribution center environment.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing material handling systems (belts, motors, rollers, sensors).
- Comfortable reading manuals, part diagrams, and SOPs.
- Can independently complete PMs and minor to moderate facility repairs.
- Knowledge of basic electrical, VFDs, and motor controls.
- Minimum 5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or distribution center environment.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills in mechanical, pneumatic, and moderate to advanced electrical systems.
- Participates in planning facility projects.
- Basic knowledge of PLCs.
- Moderate to advanced knowledge of motor control systems and VFD operations.
- Punctual and reliable with strong time management skills.
