Fire Sprinkler Service Technician What You Will Do
  • Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, including brief descriptions of sprinkler equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Contact customer representatives to ascertain equipment/system problems.
  • Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire sprinkler systems and related building system products at customer sites.
  • Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, and modification notices to repair equipment.
  • Service, troubleshoot, and install various Fire & Life Safety systems including Simplex Grinnell.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills by consistently communicating with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as smartphones and laptop computers.
  • Obtain customer signatures upon completed service call assignment.
  • Participate in a scheduled on‑call rotation and help train or mentor others on the service team.
  • Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
How You Will Do It
  • This skilled position involves troubleshooting and repairing installed sprinkler systems, including panel repair/reprogramming, device replacement/repair, resolving low‑voltage circuit troubles, and system testing.
  • Organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to assure efficient execution of all assigned tasks.
  • Possess excellent written/verbal communication and outstanding customer service skills.
  • Program fire sprinkler, security, and access control system panels.
  • Complete and submit all required task‑related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Perform on‑call and after‑hours work as needed at customer sites.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
  • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with fire sprinkler systems.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Good working knowledge of computers.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50‑70 lbs. and working in difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, high‑lift equipment up to 40 feet, ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response.
  • Adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Retain any licenses required by national, state, and local codes.
Preferred
  • Technical training.
  • NICET II certification.
Compensation

Hourly rate: $29.66 – $40.00, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
