Job Overview
Engineer II (E2) responsible for responding to calls for room repairs and facility issues, ensuring safe and proper operation of all equipment and property. The role requires performing tasks of varying complexity, including electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems maintenance.
Responsibilities- Assist in maintenance of all building systems and equipment, including repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Inform management of problems requiring maintenance and report equipment deficiencies promptly.
- Communicate with other shifts to ensure follow‑up on ongoing projects, minimizing downtime.
- Respond to accident scenes and emergency calls (fire, smoke, etc.).
- Act as a maintenance representative for the Property Operations department.
- Maintain daily records of work requests, preventative maintenance, and planned maintenance.
- Assist in installing and maintaining various systems, reading and understanding blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents.
- Ensure systems meet all standards of building codes, safety, and manufacturer specifications.
- Must lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and stand for up to 8 hours a day.
- Work may involve exposure to extreme weather, smoke‑filled environments, and outdoor conditions.
- Tasks include walking, climbing stairs, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, and handling tools.
- Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision and the ability to focus.
- 6 months prior experience or education in maintenance and repair of building systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, plumbing, and general utility repairs.
- Experience using electrical meters, power tools, and basic hand tools.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to communicate effectively over the radio and in person.
- Certified CPO preferred; forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift certification preferred.
- Must adhere to all grooming standards; no visible tattoos/piercings or unnatural hair colors.
