We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician in Reno. This position will be responsible for performing electrical and mechanical inspection, start‑up maintenance on the equipment we sell. This is a full‑time opportunity for an energetic go‑getter. An ideal candidate will be customer service orientated and work well with others. The position requires a high level of correspondence with Project Managers, Service Coordinators, and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete startup and proper documentation of new units
  • Perform preventive maintenance including belt adjustments, oiling, greasing and cleaning of equipment
  • Use experience and technical skills to determine service requirements
  • Interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system(s)
  • Represent the company in a positive manner to other trades, contractors and owners
  • Advise owner/representative of preventive maintenance inspections performed and corrective actions to be taken
  • Suggest additional services that benefit customers
  • Work in a team‑based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Submit required paperwork to Service Coordinator in a timely manner
  • Work in a safe manner daily and ensure that all safety measures are always taken
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The Required Profile:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 training plus 1‑5 years’ experience working as a Service Helper or Service Technician in a residential or commercial environment
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (e.g. Smartphone, iPad)
  • Electrical knowledge required; EPA certification preferred (e.g. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer)
  • Ability to work in diverse conditions: mechanical equipment rooms, noisy operating equipment, extreme weather, electrical shock risk, climbing/working at elevated heights
  • Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and balance multiple varied duties

Other Skills & Abilities:

Language, mathematical, reasoning and other professional skills relevant to the role are required. The applicant must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write correspondence; present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings; perform basic mathematical calculations; apply common sense and problem‑solving skills; and manage multiple tasks.

Will be required to work in a field environment, multiple customer sites daily.

Physical Demands:
The employee uses hands to operate a computer keyboard reach with hands and arms; frequently stands, walks, sits; climbs or balances and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; lifts up to 50 pounds and often 75 pounds; requires close, distant, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
