Job Overview

Fleet Maintenance Technician II is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing all fleet trailing equipment in compliance with federal and state regulations and company standards. The role ensures a safe working environment and contributes to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures.

Shift & Hours

Saturday - Wednesday from 1:30pm - 10:00pm.

Location

9715 N. Virginia St., Reno, NV 89506 (on-site at company operational facility).

Compensation

The expected starting base pay range is $28.77 - $35.96 per hour, with a potential full salary range up to $43.15 per hour over tenure. Shift differentials, overtime pay, and other compensation may apply.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.
  • Provide routine preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections to fleet trailing equipment.
  • Work with Safety department leadership to ensure all safety programs and procedures are followed.
  • May be required to use a personal or company vehicle to conduct business for the company.
  • Perform any other task or assignment deemed necessary by the organization.
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including work area clean‑up, conveyor and equipment clean‑up, and other general housekeeping duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2+ years of related experience and/or training in a mechanical setting, or an equivalent combination of education and specific work experience.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Experience as a semi‑trailer maintenance technician highly preferred.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting or moving items up to 125 pounds and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • This position works outdoors in the elements; PPE provided for all weather conditions.
  • The physical activity associated with this role is considered high.
  • Regularly lift, push, pull, or move items averaging up to 125 pounds.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle or feel.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Responsibilities, duties, and working conditions may be revised based on business needs, emergencies, staffing, or workload.

  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate 24‑hour operations.
  • Ability to fabricate and fix mechanical parts.
  • Knowledge of industrial conveyor controls and related I/O.
  • Knowledge of LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), PMs (Preventive Maintenance), and 3‑phase electrical work.
  • Must have a good driving record and be able to pass an MVR.
