Fleet Maintenance Technician II – Reno, NV
OnTrac is hiring a Fleet Maintenance Technician II based at 9715 N. Virginia St., Reno, NV 89506. This full‑time hourly position is performed onsite at the company’s operational facility.
ShiftSaturday – Wednesday, 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm.
CompensationBase pay $28.77 – $35.96 per hour, with potential salary range $28.77 – $43.15 per hour. Shift differentials, overtime, and other compensation may apply per company policy and law.
Employment LogisticsFull‑time hourly employee. The position may be eligible for shift differentials, overtime pay, or other forms of additional compensation, in accordance with applicable Company policies and law.
Responsibilities- Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections on fleet trailing equipment.
- Work with the Safety Department leadership to ensure all safety programs and procedures are followed.
- May be required to use a personal vehicle or company vehicle to conduct business for the company.
- Perform any other tasks or assignments as deemed necessary by the organization.
- Perform housekeeping duties, including work area clean‑up and equipment clean‑up.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- 2+ years of related experience and/or training in a mechanical setting, or an equivalent combination of education and specific work experience.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.
- Experience as a semi‑trailer maintenance technician highly preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial conveyor controls and related I/Os.
- Knowledge of LOTO (Lock‑Out‑Tag‑Out), PMs (Preventive Maintenance), and 3‑phase electrical work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to accommodate a 24‑hour operation schedule.
- Ability to fabricate and fix mechanical parts.
- Good driving record and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting items up to 125 pounds and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

- This position works outdoors in the elements;
OnTrac provides PPE for all weather conditions. - The physical activity associated with this role is considered high.
- You will regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move items averaging up to 125 pounds.
- You will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle or feel.
- You may occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- Responsibilities, duties, and working conditions may be revised based on business needs, emergencies, staffing, or workload.
