About Coffee Medics

Coffee Medics is a specialty coffee equipment service company based in Reno, Nevada with a branch now open in Seattle, WA. We are currently hiring for our Reno, Nevada HQ. We install, maintain, troubleshoot, refurbish, and repair commercial coffee and espresso equipment for cafes, restaurants, offices, and hospitality partners throughout the surrounding areas of Northern Nevada and Seattle, Washington.

We’re currently hiring both Junior Field Technicians and Senior Field Technicians in Reno, Nevada.

Position Overview

Field Technicians install, perform preventative maintenance on, diagnose, routinely clean, and repair commercial coffee and espresso equipment in the field. This role involves regular travel to customer locations.

Responsibilities
  • Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair commercial coffee equipment
  • Diagnose electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues in the field
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service visits
  • Respond to work orders and service calls in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate service notes
  • Communicate clearly with customers and team members
  • Manage vehicle stock and parts inventory
  • Assist customers with basic equipment operation and maintenance guidance
  • Participate in shared on-call rotation responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work vehicle
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures
  • Represent Coffee Medics professionally in customer environments

Senior Technicians are expected to handle more advanced diagnostics, mentor junior technicians, and assist with training and workflow leadership.

Qualifications

You should have:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • The ability to lift and transport equipment and parts weighing 50+ lbs
  • Comfort working with industrial tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Good organizational habits and attention to detail
  • The ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities
  • Professional communication skills with customers and coworkers
  • The ability to work independently in the field without creating additional problems
Nice To Haves

These are helpful, but not required:

  • 6+ months of field experience working on coffee or espresso equipment
  • Specialty coffee or barista experience
  • Appliance repair or automotive repair background
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Familiarity with espresso machine manufacturers and brewing equipment
  • Experience managing parts inventory and service documentation

Some technicians come from specialty coffee backgrounds. Others come from appliance repair, automotive, or general mechanical trades. Whether coffee is your passion or you simply enjoy fixing machines and solving problems, there’s room for you at Coffee Medics.

Physical Requirements

This position requires:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching
  • Safe operation of company vehicles
  • Working in tight or confined spaces when necessary
  • Ability to safely lift and move equipment weighing 50+ lbs
  • Extended periods of driving between customer locations
  • Exposure to electrical systems, hot water, moving mechanical parts, and cleaning agents
