About This Role

Lead Field Controls Engineer – You will be crucial to ALC’s business through the field commissioning of building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. We are looking for a self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, customer‑focused team member who acts as a role model for other field engineers, solves complex problems, trains less experienced staff, and serves as a contact in the field as a product and technical expert.

Position is onsite at client sites within an 80‑mile radius around Reno, Nevada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems that utilize advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
  • Serve as local contact for technical issues.
  • Offer effective solutions for complex system issues.
  • Provide turnkey project delivery on medium to large projects.
  • Ensure systems operate properly, including controls, sensors, and software.
  • Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
  • Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate and document project status and details to the customer.
  • Provide site‑specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to climb ladders or use other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid, current Driver’s License; insurable by the company’s insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate Degree, or technical/business certificate in HVAC, Controls, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with advanced building automation software such as WebCTRL.
  • Ability to navigate and integrate into a variety of building automation systems.
  • Expertise with TCP/IP networks, including wireless technology.
  • Experience managing multiple challenges across diverse disciplines.
  • Excellent technical communication with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $ annually. Factors such as skills, education, and experience may affect pay within this range.

Other Compensation

May be entitled to short‑term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
